What are the 129 problems?

I have searched the forum but have not found an exact answer.
I am not understanding what the problem is with the 129 sat, why are people losing it at night and why are the signal levels so low.

I live in Chicago area and my install is this Thursday and there is no way possible I can get the 61.5 sat so I will have to get my HD locals via 129. Am I going to have problems?

I've read one explanation that it wobbles in orbit and the signal is sometimes OK sometimes not. I live in Oregon and the signal can drop out without warning as we're apparently on the edge of the coverage pattern. I think the Northwest has the most issues. I'm not aware that the mid-west has major issues, but have read some posts about poorly(or non-optimally) aimed dishes that can cause problems.

Here in Southern MN, I can shoot 97 on transponder 31 that's where the Rave channel is and Transponder 6 is only upper 50's to low 60's That's where the Rush channel and I believe ESPN. But on some days That 97 is only 87 and the upper 50's are upper 40's. It don't take much to knock out the signal then. Just don't understand it.

Well I got my dish installed and the best he could get on TP31 on 129 was 87. At what point does it start to pixelate? On D* it would start around 60 for me.

Just checked my signal here in Alabama for TP31 and am getting 101. I get over 75 on all transponders.
