Awesome! MUCH better show than Most Haunted.
I agree, Most Haunted is hokey.
I do like the discovery channel's "A Haunting" though.
As for Ghost Hunters, I like that they try and disprove the haunting and they go for scientific proof.
I think it suffers from the "reality show" format -- the feuding etc. I suppose they need that to keep the lowest common denominator viewers. Jason constantly seems to be on the verge of blowing up over one thing or another, then perversely complains about other's "professionalism". For so many shows, Brian seemed to be his scapegoat -- he would do most of the donkey work --set up the client, pack the van, drive thousands of miles, set up the equipment, help with the investigation, tear down the equipment, repack the van, and review tens of hours of tedious data, while Jason contribution largely seemed to be standing around and bitching to Grant. Probably all that is fake conflict, pandering to the worst part of "reality tv". But Jason's attitude does seem to get in the way of the investigation. I wish he'd get whatever anger or issue is bugging him under control instead of browbeating the others.

I agree that Jason and Grant seem to let the others do all the work, then show up at the end to present what "they" found to the homeowners, etc. That being said, I really like their approach to ghost hunting. Being an amateur ghost hunter myself, I've learned a lot from the show. Most Haunted seems to get all giddy over every creak and piece of dust that they film.
Interestingly, I've been on ghost hunts in two of the places Ghost Hunters went to, and we got pretty much the same responses. Moundsville Prison and The Stanley Hotel.
I agree with you on Most Haunted. It is just way too over the top for me and I think its all fake.
I think Ghost Hunters is probably as good as you can get for ghosthunting via "reality tv" which seems to require infighting and kicking people out of the group as a premise. I could wish they'd spend half as much time bickering and yelling at each other and more time seriously investigating. I'd like to see them "pause" after asking a question on EVP, long enough to give a clean time for a response before asking another question. Most of the time they chatter incessantly. When they hear a noise, I wish they'd give some sort of non verbal signal if they want to tell eachother instead of immediately shouting "dude what was that", often over the noise of any subsequent sound. But it is probably the best show of its ilk on TV and I expect some of the shouting and bickering is 'scripted. Except I do think Jason has got something wrong with him. His carping at Brian aside, I remember him shooting one of his female coworkers with a paintball gun at deliberately close range, and giving her a huge welt -- paintball isn't supposed to be used at that range. And a subsequent comment that he has issues with all his female taps members, that they all irritate him. And we've all seen how he treats Brian. I don't know why he's so angry, but i don't think I'd work for taps, or be too keen on inviting his group into my home. But their approach to ghost hunting is good, aside from the founder's weird anger issues.
OTOH, for reenactments, I think the discovery channels "A Haunting" is great and never fails to give me the chills.
