View Full Version : HD Distant Networks?

I just had HD installed last Saturday, and was under the assumption that any channels that I got regularly, if HD was available I'd get those too. I do get Fox distants (East and West), but I'm not getting Fox HD distants. Should I be getting these? To complicate things, when I originally got the Fox distants it was because we did not have a local Fox affiliate here, but now we do so we've been grandfathered into having them. Would this make a difference? If I can't get them, I'll be a bit bummed as the local Fox does not broadcast in HD - so I can get it via antenna like the other locals, but no HD for football and baseball.

HD is treated separately, and if your local Fox station is transmitting a digital signal (does not have to be HD) your chances of them giving you a waiver are very small. Check here http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/global/contentPage.jsp?assetId=1200072 where it says "click here" partway down the page.
HD DNS and SD DNS are two different features. You do not automatically get one with the other (either direction).
So I guess you have to settle with being a bit bummed. Sorry.

you need to submit seperate waivers w/ the hd-dns dept.. any rep can transfer u to them.. same process, same wait time (up to 45 days) but can't hurt to try, right??
