View Full Version : HR20 Won't Recognize Second Tuner

A few days ago, the power went out - and when it came back on, the HR20-700 did a reset. Since then, it does not recognize the second tuner (I can't watch one channel while recording another, can't record two shows at once, etc.).
I have a 5 LNB dish, and this has not been a problem before.
Any suggestions? Have I given enough info?

Have you tried to reset the receiver?

You mean an RBR? I have not tried once since it re-set after the power went back on.
I will try after my wife's recording of "Days of Our Lives" is over! Some battles aren't worth fighting ;)

If you can:
try a reboot from the menu.
remove the BBCs
swap coax feeds to see if it changes.
Remember to do a reset for each step to see if the auto detect finds the tuner.

Yes but don't do a RBR. Reset the receiver by the menu.

That has done the trick - thank you both for your help and quick responses.
I had a similar situation a couple of months back...
If you switch the coax cables out and have the same result, you more than likely have a bad tuner. I had to get a replacement (actually 2) b/c the 1st refurb replacement, believe it or not, also had a bad tuner.
2 refurbs later, everything is OK, I specifically asked for a newer build date on the
2nd refurb.
Good luck
