I was laying in my backyard on Saturday getting a tan and glanced up at my Dish which is mounted on the back of the house. Something looked very strange about it. I couldn't figure it out at first but then it hit me. It only has a single LNB ! How is this possible ? I have 2 R15's and There are 2 cables going from the dish to a Multi Switch in the attic which is using LNB1 and LNB2 as inputs. How do you get 2 inputs off of a single LNB ? I am not up on this stuff so someone please explain.

Dual output single LNB. Quite common.

It is Single LNBF with two independent outputs, so the switch getting both polirity by sending different VDC to each input.

You have a dual lnb, single satellite position, feeding a 2x4 multiswitch. The multiswitch locks one side of the dual lnb to 13 volts and the other side to 18 volts. These feed into the multiswitch. For each of the cables going from the multiswitch to the receiver, each feed sends a voltage to select either the 13 volt or 18 volt transponders indepently.
The "3" in 3x4 for the multiswitch means that a third input is for an ota input which is diplexed to the receiver hookup lines.

Lock polarity by voltage.

But then you'd be responsible for the biohazzard clean-up and paperwork.
