Yes, you'll get SNY.

You'll get the SD feed of SNY on channel 625. It will contain all the programming someone in NY gets except for the live broadcasts of games (in most cases, you'll get the "encore" presentations).

If you want to watch the games you'd need Extra Innings.

Not so on the encore presentations. Those are normally blacked out. The only RSN who has been letting their encores go out in the clear has been MASN.

That is true. I had the sports pack at one time and most encore presentations are blacked out. In fact, I don't even think you can get the "Mets Classics" games. I live in the NY DMA and I remember NESN blacked out their Red Sox classics games. But you should be able to get the pre-game and post-game reports and most other programming that SNY airs.

IMHO the sports pack is a complete waiste of money. If they added Setanta sports i would THINK about getting but would only probably watch fox soccer and setanta.

The only way I see it not being a waste of money is if you are in a team's extended area. What I mean is most people get one RSN, and get locked into the teams carried on that network. However, with Sportspack, depending on where you live, you may get an extra team. For instance, my RSN is MASN, and get balt/DC sports, but with sportspack I get FSN Pittsburgh (penguins/pirates.)
Other than that, unless you like seeing the Best Damn Sports Show and the Sports List on 35 channels at once, it's worthless.
Oh yeah, blacking out Mets/Yankees/Sox classic games... how on earth does that make sense!?!
I can see sportspack being worthwhile if you follow an out-of-market college team or want to watch pre/post game shows in addition to what the MLB EI package offers.
It's worth it to see Mike and the Mad Dog on YES!

It's good during college football and basketball. I only sub to it during the EPL season.

Doesn't WFAN radio have an online stream where you can listen to them for free?

ESPN U is also in the sports pack. I also agree the sports pack is very useful for college sports including baseball.

LOL its funny that Mets Classics are blacked out but I can receive Yankees Classics on YES, O's/Nats classics on MASN and Red Sox Classics on NESN in the clear and every other classic games are blacked out on other RSNs.

I just subscribed to Directv too, and they are coming on Sunday...
I ordered the Premier package, with the HD access.
Do I still need to order the Sports pack? What exactly would that do for me? I'm in Salt Lake, Utah. I do plan on ordering the NFL Sunday Ticket too. What is Superfan, by the way?

Not sure exactly what that gives you but there should be more HD regional sports with this package when D* 10 satellite gets on line this fall. Superfan is the HD feed of all the games plus some interactive scores and stats. $100 extra and a must for HD fans. Jazz fan here.

Sports Pack is included in Premier so don't worry about that but if you have not activated your account yet make sure that you order the NFL Sunday Ticket at activation because you can get the SuperFan for free. This is only for new customer and only if you order at activation before June 25.

Okay, so I ordered my package already, and the install is scheduled. Should I tell the guy installing it I want Sunday Ticket too? Would that get me the Superfan for free? Or is it too late since I already paid for my receivers and all that, and ordered my package? I for sure want Sunday Ticket, that's one of the main reasons I am dumping Dish Network and switching to Directv. But I haven't ordered Sunday Ticket yet. SHould I call Directv tomorrow and tell them to put it on my order? Would I have to pay for it right then or would they bill me for it?
And with Superfan, what games do I get in HD? Would I get the Jazz games in HD? I know the Jazz games would be blacked out of NBA League Pass (since I'm in the local market), so I'm curious what games I would get in HD. Just the Sunday Ticket games?
I'm definitely a fan of HD, and especially sports in HD, so I'll probably be getting the Superfan either way (especially if it's free- thanks for the tip).

They will bill you for NFL Superfan. There is no Superfan for NBA games...yet. As for the Jazz you would get their HD games on channel 96. The MPEG4 local RSN channel. You need to subcribe to the different pro sports packages to get any out of market pro games. Same situation as with E*. There is also an MLB Superfan that is $39 per season. Welcome to D*, Dawg!!

Assuming his RSN is available in HD. From another thread I saw his isn't.
Any chance they may run superfan for free for exsiting customers? I'm holding out for a deal on ST before the season starts. Any suggestions?

They already did back around the NFL Draft. Also most people calling up now to make sure they autorenew are getting it free.
