Ok so i have a AT-9 dish, and i barely ever get rain fade. Now just today, in Orlando, we had a semi-big thunder storm. All of my MPEG4 locals were intact, but MPEG2 HD like HBOHD were experiencing bad rain fade. All SD was fine. In good weather i have all signals in the high 90's and some 100 aside from a few 86's but bad weather just seemed to give me a problem today. The fade lasted longer than usual fade, which is like a minute, and now I'm a little scared that if a bigger storm comes ill loose my MPEG2 HD that i watch. BTW i didnt loose those stations in a hurricane and yet i loose them now.

So could this be an alignment issue??

EDIT: OK the only transponders not in the range from 95-100% are the ones on the 99, the are like 86-88. Should i call D* to realign or should i leave it alone so i dont risk loosing my perfect signal on the other transponders?? I'm only really concerned about this cause i remember hearing the new HD will be picked up through the 99 transponders......thus not really being a MPEG2 HD problem.

If you didn't lose locals you don't need to worry about the 99 sat. It may have been where the storm was located. If it was only blocking the path of the 110 sat it would not affect the other sats.

umm well Orlando locals are on the 103 sat according to the list i found once here....i think that the 103 is the one right next to the 99....but that doesnt make too much sense since i still have something coming in through the 99. ehh i'm confused

Your locals do come from 103. While close to 99, there is still the 101 in between them.
Lower signals on 99 really doesn't mean anything more than those spot beams are for locations near you, but mot you.
Your SATs are 101, 103, 110, 119. As storms pass through they may block one or more spots in the sky, but maybe not all of them.
