I heard it was risky to show that movie on TV due to the FCC complaints. Even on cable, isn't that still a problem?

Premium cable shouldn't have a problem. Normal cable channels might have a little problem trying to edit that movie down.

Cheers,
Tom

I believe it was FCC Commissioner Michael Coops who stated after a few inquires on the language within “Saving Private Ryan” after it aired on ABC, was what was more offensive than the language was war itself; with the incalculable damage it does to countries, economies, and lives.

War, what is it good for?

Absolutely nothing.

Peace,

I believe ABC aired it unedited. No worse the NBC showing "Schindler's List" unedited and uninterrupted.

Spielberg REQUIRES that the movie be shown un-cut. You will never see an edited version. He owns the rights to it. Therefore, he can make the rules on how it's shown. He feels the story can not be told in an edited version. He wants you to see what really happens in war.
