Tried calling sales in Dishnetwork. Seems like they close up the tent and go home and 10:30 P.M. MT and don't come back until 5:30 A.M. I didn't realize they were trying to save money and not sign up customers. Or are they just short on personnel? Anyone know how long this has been going on? Makes it kind of hard on the East Coast workers getting home late and wanting to order something from them. Those time frames mean an East Coast worker needs to call between 7:30 A.M. to 8:30 P.M. when a lot of them are stuck in traffic going to work or if the work late to call by 8:30 P.M. East Coast time.

Are you talking right now, on Saturday Night/Sunday Morning?

It is a common time for companies to work on their servers. I've had no problem reaching people in the late evening on weekdays. Even when the computers are down they still answer the phones.

10:30 MT is 12:30 ET. 9:30 PT would seem late enough.

Evidently Dishnetwork has decided to close up the sales office for new customers at 10:30 P.M. MT everyday now. So if you give someone a referral make sure they know they have to call between certain times for new customer service. I don't know if Directv closes up or not? I don't think they do. I was just curious as to when or how long they have been doing this. Had a referral try to call tonight to sign up, evidently couldn't order at night any more, oh well, I told them to try again tomorrow.

So, what exactly were they told when they called? And, btw you have how the time zones work backwards.

Dave,

I'm assuming that you don't travel much. This is based on your understanding of the time zones.

PS They're open 24/7 anyway

Are you calling Dish Network (i.e. 1-800-333-DISH) or a reseller?

I'll bet you called a retailer and not Dsih directly. Here is a good number to call to guarantee to talk to someone who speaks ENGLISH.

The time zones are not wrong. 12:30 A.M. back east is 10:30 P.M. Mountain time.
And the number called was Dishes main 800 number. They do close up at 10:30 P.M. Mountain time which is 12:30 A.M. Eastern time and open back up at 5:30 A.M. which is 7:30 A.M. Eastern time. This is for New Customer sign-ups. So tell anyone that is going to sign up for the first time to call according to the time frames. This also means that they are closing up at 9:30 P.M. Pacific or for some of you California time. Like I said it is for new sign ups right now. Who knows maybe all the hours will change later on for all and this is just there first test to see how it goes with the public.

Dave-So, what does the "8:30 P.M." refer to in your original post as quoted below?

Of course they are. I have called a few times in the last week from here in MD and on each occasion the Tech with whom I spoke was located in VA. (All EDT I might observe.)

Ok Ok I admit it I did make a mistake on the one post. It would actually be between 7:30 A.M. and 12:30 A.M. Eastern time. My bad. But as I stated for NEW SIGN UPS only the office closes at 10:30 P.M. MT. . This is not to change programing or for technical help. Or for current customers. The number is for Dishes special offer for new customers to sign up for there Special HD Promo package.
The number is listed on Dishes Web Site. It is: 1-888-825-2557.

Call the 800-333-DISH number.
Yes, the number you gave is also on E*'s website but the main number is always there.

If they closed at night they wouldn't have customers. Perhaps you miss dialed.
