View Full Version : Single lines only in Vegas?

My Dad recently had an HR-20 installed in his house in Las Vegas. According to the installer, home builders in Vegas built in an opening in the attic crawl space that allows just a single line that can run from a dish into the house. The installer claimed that it is not possible to run two lines into the house from the dish. Thus he has just a single line into his box and can watch and record, but can't watch one show while recording another. The installer claimed that the solution is a "single-line multi switch," but such a switch is not currently available.

Two questions: 1) Has anybody heard of such a home construction that does not permit two lines into the house and 2) Is it true that there is no single-line multi switch and will such a switch ever be available?

The Single Wire Multiswitch is not yet available, and it's not known when it will ship. I think it's crazy that the home builder cannot run 4 wires from the dish to a central lcation.

Thanks for the responses. I think they've been throwing up new houses so fast in Vegas they don't have time to punch a bigger (or second) hole in the wall.
