NEW YORK (Reuters) - Liberty Media Corp. and EchoStar Communications Corp. are preparing a joint offer for satellite-communications provider Intelsat Ltd., The Wall Street Journal's online edition said on Thursday.

Wonder if this is part of the plan that E* wanted to do with D* to share some satellites and bandwidth to better compete against cable. The 2 company could share certain programming and save massively on the cost of building new sats.
