I just reinstalled Windows Vista, and now I can't play MP3s with Media Player 11. This is the message I get:

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

I can play them in every other program, but none of them allow me to use the controls on my keyboard to control the player. Any ideas?

I just reinstalled Windows Vista, and now I can't play MP3s with Media Player 11.Have you gone through the "Genuine Advantage" and update processes since you reinstalled Vista?

Yeah, I've done that. If I right click on My Computer, it says Activated, and shows my product/activation key.
I've tried restarting as well, that didn't do anything. I've never had this problem before, and nothing has changed since the last time I installed Vista.

I managed to figure it out. I had to uninstall and reinstall my sound card. Never done that to me before. Strange.
Thanks for the help.
