Audio pausing issue [Archive]

Does anyone ever have this issue?

When I am watching recorded or paused tv and then catch up to live tv the audio will drop out ever second. Video will be fine. For me to get around this I have to either pause for a second and then press play again, or change channels and then come right back.

Does D* plan on fixing this?

I am seeing this tonight for the first time on live TV. If I 6 second rewind once or twice, it is fine. If I catch back up to real time, the audio drops out for a split second a couple of times a minute. Never saw it befor this evening, seems to be SD only.

I have it on both SD and HD.

I forgot to mention this is on a H20-700.

I have had that problem which is frustrating and I wish they would fix it but the simple fix works of just pausing the feed for 2-3 seconds then hit play and it will be fine.

I have definitely experienced this. Seems to me that (in the situation you describe) the box is trying to decide whether to present RECORDED audio from the DVR, or LIVE audio from the program and can't make up its mind. Would be nice to have it corrected, I agree.
