......For the first time, every Raptor regular-season game will be televised either on Sportsnet (47), TSN (12), Raptors NBA TV (32 simulcasts, plus several exclusive telecasts) or Global (one nationally, seven in Ontario).
........Sportsnet will air almost 200 NBA games, plus playoff games, in its four regions. Each feed -- Pacific, West, Ontario and East -- will schedule match-ups compatible to the region and its time zone.
......Global's regular-season schedule begins Jan. 26, on Super Bowl Sunday, with a national telecast of the afternoon Raptor-Sacramento game. Global will also simulcast, full network, ABC's coverage of the NBA Finals.
......This season, TSN will carry 15 games, 12 of which will involve the Raptors. The first game is the opener next Wednesday against Washington. In addition, TSN will air a minimum of 10 playoff games, most of which will be in the conference finals.
........A big winner in this TV deal appears to be Raptors NBA TV, the digital channel co-owned by the club and the NBA. Raptors NBA TV will televise about 80 NBA games, regular season and playoff. That's up from last year's total of 60. The channel's playoff content could get as high as 20 games, compared with only four last year.
........"More than anywhere else, Canada will have wall-to-wall basketball," said John Shannon, the head of Raptors TV. "It will be everywhere, whether it's ourselves, whether it's Sportsnet or TSN.
"The whole idea was to get more basketball on the air and NBA Canada has succeeded."
.......For hoops junkies, the appeal of Raptors NBA TV is not only its 80 NBA games, but another 45-to-55 development league and Women's National Basketball Association games. Also digitally, viewers will be able to pull in the complete lineup of NBA games available on Sportsnet's four regional feeds.
