Is anyone else having issues paying their bill online? I have been trying to pay mine for the last few days. Every time i try, I will just get a server not responding page, or the page to enter credit card info just reloads itself.

I have tried using different cards, a MasterCard and AMEX

This happens on multiple computers, and at my place of work as well.

I had the same problem last month when i went to pay my bill, I ended up having to do it over the phone.

Did you try a different browser? Sometimes IE or Firefox will act differently. Pay mine online every month, no problem so far.

You do know about Credit Card Autopay?.It's a great feature that puts an end to all kinds of future problems.;)

Until D* decides to ding you with an erroneous fee (a non-return fee, for example, when it takes them three weeks to send the return kit).

No thanks, I'll deal with the occasional web problem.

I can understand your problem and can sympathize with you too.But I have changed out 5 receivers and when I didn't see that return kit in a week.I was on the horn and on somebody's butt!.I haven't had any problems yet. Also once when I voiced my concern cause the box was running late they gave me the number at the return center. So I could call and make sure I wasn't charged.

Me too! Same last month. For two months now, I have had to telephone in the payment. Same on three different computers, one in my office and two at home. Even the email link on the DTV website would do the same thing. No response after clicking the "response" button. I will not waste 45 to 50 minutes of my time telling DTV over the phone about this problem. Can anyone here on this forum who have connections with D* pass it on?

I was speaking with a CSR the other day about a late fee I was charged for not paying a bill on time and was asking why I didn't receive a paper bill (I thought I had been getting e-mail reminders as well as a paper bill, the second as a sort of final reminder: time to pay!) and he started telling me that they were re-doing the "my account" part of the website and that there may have been some problems here and there with it - including stopping my paper bill without letting me know. So it could have something to do with the work they're doing to the website.

By the way, the non-payment issue motivated me to sign up for autopay. I hadn't thought about the issue of being billed in error for stuff. I hope I don't regret my decision.

Just as an aside: at the end of my conversation with the CSR I asked if he would take the late fee of $5 off since I had always paid my bill on time and was such a good customer, etc. Wouldn't you know it, he not only knocked the late fee off but gave me a $50 credit. Gotta love that!

Well I don’t know what was up with the site, but I was able to get my payment in later in the day yesterday.

As for auto payment. I prefer not to for several reasons.

I like to control when and how much money is coming out of my bank account, as I tend to only keep the amount of money that ill be needing for the week in my checking/debit account.

The other reason is security. I prefer not to store my CC# in an online database where I have no clue how secure it actually is. Too many stories lately of companies / sites being hacked and whole lists of credit card numbers being stolen.

Yeah I know DirecTV is possibly still saving my credit card number even when I do a one time payment, I would hope not, but I know its a possibility. But I do know for sure its being saved for auto payment.

I can totally understand your reasons. That's why I set up preauthorized amounts
though my bank with additional passwords and carry the insurance against unauthorized transactions. It is a must in this age of wireless transactions.;)

They have had enough problems with the site, when I tried to view my past statements, it shows a warning that I was about to have my service canceled sometime in July.

I called about this, the CSR confirmed that I was still signed up for AutoPay, which the WEB site still showed, and told me not to worry about it, so there appears to be a problem with the WEB site.

I understand your concern, but I have successfully used autopay for almost eight years with no problems at all. And that has established my "good record" with DirecTV when I call with a request/question.
