I need to find a commercial DirecTV installer who can repair an existing DTV installation in a high rise office building in San Francisco. The original installation company has gone out of business and we have very low signal levels. Some of the transponders are OK, some are too weak to receive any picture or sound.

The dish is on the roof with a multipoint distribution system running down through the building to each floor and amplifiers on each floor to handle the local offices. Each tenant is responsible for arranging their own DirecTV contract. Dish is also in the building and has a separate set of cables running down the building core.

There is an opportunity for someone to support the entire building if they can do the work properly. 35 plus stories with multiple tenants.

If this is the wrong place to ask or post, let me know.

Call DirecTV and ask for the MDU (multi dwelling unit) support. They should be able to refer you to a suitable vendor in your area.

You might also post at this forum: http://www.dbsforums.com/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=45

Thanks very much.

I did talk to MDU support at DirecTV. So far, every vendor they have referred fails to return phone calls.

It must be a tough way to make money....

It must be a tough way to make money....It may also have something to do with a lack of hardware to support the new High Definition equipment in an MDU scenario.

mdu and commercial are 2 separate groups; mdu is only for apts & condos - go to the website and look for the dtv for business #

Tried them too. They keep referring us to a vendor who doesn't return calls. The original installers were like that too.
