I don't know if this has been answered already or not, but what is E* current capacity for HD. What I mean is, how much available space do they have with their current fleet that is not currently be used, and can be used for new HD. Whether it be LILs or National channels. Thanks.

Without counting vacant transponders and trying to figure out how healthy the satellites are they could probably do a dozen or more today if needed ... with more space coming in a couple of months when Voom goes MPEG4 and two full "MPEG4" satellites launching later this year.

To put it bluntly, they have enough space to add anything likely to be in HD by the end of the year. :)

Yes, but WILL they add anything? Many are still waiting for RSN's in HD, NESN for me. That's actually a "real HD" channel, as much of their content beyond Red Sox and Bruins is in HD as well.

I for one would be surprised if anything new gets released, HD wise.

I for one would be surprised if anything new gets released, HD wise. They've announced that they will add six to eight new HD nationals before the end if the year. RSNs are a completely different can of worms as they are a regional (spotbeam) thing.

I'm say your wrong about no additional national HD content in 2007.

I second the vote for NESN HD.

Yes, but WILL they add anything?Yes, they will. HD channels will be added to the E* lineup before the end of the year.

Which ones and when I'll leave up to those who want to risk being wrong. :)

RSNs might be regional but they are not on spotbeams.
