I realize this may not exactly be the place for this to be posted, but perusing the forum headings I didn't see a great slot for this. The DirecTV General Discussion forum is by FAR where I do most of my reading, and I have come to respect and value some of the posters here. So on to my question:

I've moved into an apartment (bear with me - it won't turn into that! :)) and am now getting around to connecting my DVD player. I have a 60" Sony Wega TV (rear-projection LCD) with 2 HR20s and an HR10-250 in the stand under it. To the left of that I have a component cabinet in which I have two HR20s, two HR10-250s and two SD-DVR80s. On top of that cabinet are two Series 2 stand alone TiVos and a Series 2 with a DVD burner.

My DVD player is part of a Home Theater system (Panasonic) and is powered through a cable from the subwoofer (Model SB-WA920 - 390 watts). From a space perspective, ideally I would put the subwoofer between the HDTV and the cabinet, which would place it beneath the overhang of the HDTV on the stand with several inches to spare all around. The DVD player would go into the same component cabinet as the DVRs.

That's the set up. My question is: do I need to be concerned about the subwoofer being that close in proximity to the other equipment? Before I moved, the subwoofer was a few feet behind the TV and out of the way of everything else. I don't have the ability to do that here.

Any thoughts? My concern is if the magnet(s) used in the subwoofer could cause problems (or damage) with the other equipment.

Thanks in advance for all the help! You guys haven't let me down yet!

If its 'video shielded' I don't think it should be a problem. If its not it might mess with stuff if you get it to close.

You should be fine. My sub is directly below my LCD with no problems. It was alsow directly below a panny 27" tube as well. I think you'll have some face-to-face chats with your neighbors about your sub well before any damage is done.

If the sub is shielded it will not be a problem. I have a 1000 watt sub a foot away from my TV and equipment with no problems.
