I signed up for the NBA League Pass with Dish today. The CSR told me I could tell I was qualified by looking at the tv screen. I see nothing on the screen that states I am qualified. Those of you that have it with Dish, do I just need to wait until a game starts tonight to see that I am receiving the package?

Check your guide - the NBA League Pass channels should now be green instead of red. You may need to change to the All Channels or All Subscribed lists to see them...

You will know you have the package when you get your bill. :D

The PQ on these channels are rock solid. I checked out a preview game last night and could not see ANY pixelation on fast breaks. The color saturation was very poor, but I'd put up with that over breakups anyday. It may have been that game, what does anyone else think about the PQ?

You have 11 stations spread over 2 transponders. basicly a 5 to 1 compression ratio in use, so it should look good. :D
Most everything else on Dish Network is around a 12 to 1 ratio.
Good news everyone, the free preview has been extended to November 11(for Dish only as far as I know). This may have something to do with why NBA TV isn't up and running yet. You can tune into channel 139 and see the lineup of games for the next 7 days, Dish finally has the schedule up.

The thing that bugs me about this (and I would be PO'ed if I was a Dish Shareholder) is that Dish Network has not OFFICIALY announced they were carrying this package.
Not a press Release...
No mention on the website (Although the place holder page is still up at http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/programming/ppv/sports_events/nba/index.shtml)
You would think they would be tooting their horn over the addition of this package.

Nor is it on NBAs page...

About Damn time. Of course they would have sold more if they announced it earlier. :)
Just remember on October 9th I revealed first that Dish would be adding the NBA package. :) (There now I feel special) :D

No mention of a start date for NBA TV or what the damage will be.

I would like to know if E* is going to include NBA TV in AT150 like D* includes it in their Sports Pak?

Yes they will add it. This NBA TV will be different then the one folks on DirecTV are use to, infact this channel is replacing CNN/SI which went dark to plan for this channel.
I believe it comes on the air on December 1st.

Wow, just glancing at the NBA LP channels tonight for the first time, the picture quality is SWEET.

The picture quality was good and the Dish rep said I am coded for the package, so I guess that means I have it.
I absolutely love this NBA package. Getting all these OTA games from across the country is too cool, it brings me back to those good old C-Band days where wild feeds of these OTA games could be found all over the sky. I am so glad Dish has added this.

You can tell if your order went through by going into the Main Menu and then System Setup and then finally Purchase Info and there should be a charge there (I'm not sure if it shows up if you decided not to be billed in 3 monthly installments). I wondered the same thing too when I ordered it last night then I remembered that when I ordered the NHL Center Ice package, that too showed up in the Purchase Info screen. So give it try then you'll know if you got it or not. :)
