Ok, I've been aroudn here but have been away a while.

I have an HR10-250, and a normal triple LNB dish. However I had a problem when I got the triple installed, the standard issue installers refused to stay long enough to work with me to get a signal from 119. I wound up hiring a company I trust, to get it done right.

To get the line of site, the company installed a tripod mount, and long pole, putting my dish up pretty high, and mounting an nice HD OTA antenna for locals.

I dicussed with the company rep(whom I trust greatly) what I would have to do to get MPEG4 sometime later(the HR20s were not out yet), and at that time the AT9 dish was the way to go, but that dish would be way to heavy to mount in the same way, and we would have to go to a well placed pole in the backyard.

Hearing about a new wave of HD channels in the fall I want to see what I need($) to get it done, but I see solid signal says the AT9 is discontinued.

So I ask the following:

1. What has replaced the AT9? Is it signifcantly lighter than the AT9?
2. Do we have a confirmed list of the scheduled channels for launch in fall?
3. Now that folks have had their HR20s a while, is the software stable and reliable yet?
4. I watch HD when I can. HD movies are less important to me, but HD shows and sports are more important to me. Is what's coming worth going through this now?

First off :welcome_s back

1) AU-9 slimline dish. It is a little smaller and lighter but not much.
2) http://dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=87235
3) I have no major problem with my 3 HR20's at all. A few minor problems but nothing big.
4) Yes. I would do it now or you will probably have to wait. Once the new channels launch Directv is going to be so back up it will take forever to get a install.

I'll contact National about the new dish, see what they say.
Thanks for the list, its pretty good, are the RSNs for september or just the vague "fall" schedule?

As for #4, I'd get National out...Ironwood only gets to touch my installation if there's no other option.

The list of upcoming HD channels for Directv is what is official so far. That is just what has been announced so far. But I am sure some more will be added from now until September.
