I was wondering if anyone had whose home was already pre-wired for cable has integrated their D* install through the existing wiring vs. the install drilling new holes through walls, etc?

If you do not need any additional runs the cable used for cable service should work fine for D*'s service.

There are variables though. Assuming the existng cable is in good shape, no bad kinks, no rodent teeth marks etc.
Perferably RG6, RG59 can be used, but YMMV.

Off subject....What's YMMV?

I have two rg59 runs (existing in house when I bought it) running a single line R15 and a regular D10 receiver....no problems.

I wouldn't trust it for Hi-Def though. I've got rg6 for the rest of the runs.

YMMV = your mileage may vary .... in other words, your results might be different.
