EVERY time insert a DVD into my computer, Windows Media Player 11 INSISTS on IMMEDIATELY playing it, even if I have music playing. I checked through the settings, but can't find anything about auto-play. How can I stop it from doing this?
Go into My Computer. Right click on the DVD Drive, then click on Properties. You should find an Autoplay tab there. Select the options you want. There is probably also a choice saying "prompt me each time to select an action" Select that and you should be home free.

Nope, only tabs are General Tools Hardware Sharing Customize Recording I did check under each tab to, but there isn't anything about auto-play.

If you have Windows Vista, do search for autoplay or find it in the Control Panel. There you adjust what it does when you insert CD or DVD. I picked "ask me everytime".
