TSN is reporting 2 1/2 -3 months for recovery which is a lot better then I imagined after seeing the hit last night.

His words after the game:
"I am sorry that Jason Allison was injured, but that is part of the game, I am a little more concerned right now about the loss."
What a classless monkeybrain.
And I still can't believe the refs didn't even call a penalty on the play (Sutton was penalized for a previous infraction). I'm curious to see if he'll be suspended or not. I wish he'd sit out until Jason will be back. It would be the right thing to do.
Just my $.02, from a newbie hockey fan :)

Frolov was looking so good on Allison's line and boom... It's usually not normal for a rookie player to make it onto the top line as fast as he did this year. Shows how much confidence that management had in his abilities there after putting up the numbers at the WJC and with the russian super elite team in juniors. Kid could easily be calder rookie of the year along with Zetterberg in Detroit. Generally they get worked in with extreme caution toiling away on the 3rd or 4th lines for quite awhile before they get the distinguished honor of making it all the way to the teams top 3 depth chart even with all the key injuries the Kings had upfront early in this season.
Man, the Kings can never have an easy year.... there always has to be drama.
I guess that's what keeps me interested all these years.

Just wait until Mike Peca gets his first shot at revenge against Darcy Tucker's submarine torpedo job in the playoffs when the Isles meet Toronto for the first time. Peca has backed off of his initial threatening statements a bit when he alluded almost in Crow like Brandon Lee (RIP) fashion to longing for the moment when he can make Darcy experience the kind of pain he had to go through before, during, and after all that rehab work, but it still should be quite a crazy confrontation when those two are on the ice at the same time again. Peca figures his first game back will be against Toronto and the Islanders are really struggling right now so that has big game written all over it.

True, there are lots of things that have to be settled on the ice. I'm just depressed about the Coyotes start. :crying:

This weeks NHL Cool Shots on ESPN had a good feature on the Coyotes training camp. I think the team was bussed to Sedona for some of their workouts where they were shown playing water polo, throwing heavy balls around, building things with some kind of tinker toy type dealio, exercising all over the place, doing those trust drills where you allow yourself to be dropped into the arms of your teammates etc... They looked so good and loose there as if team chemistry wouldn't be much of a problem at all. It's still way early James F. They will come around I think.
