Quick question...about dishes

I never thought about this until the other night when I was working in the back yard....

When I upgraded to HD, They installed the new 5lnb dish on my roof. Ran some new looking cables to the house, but nothing new into the house (I don't think).

Anyhow, they never took down my other dish off the side of my house. I still have a single SD DVR receiver upstairs, do I need it for that? Do I need two dishes for two receivers?

You do not "need" two dishes for two receivers.

The 5LNB can support 4 tuners, with no additional equipment.
But with extra equipment, basically the sky is almost the limit, with one dish.
(Some Apartment/condo's can run ALL their units... with just one dish)

Anyway, the installer could have taken the "easy" route, and left the old dish connected to your older equipment... so........

So I'd have to have them come back out, move the connections from the small one to the big one and such.....Oh well...sounds like a hassle.

or as the instaler would probably say ... what other dish ..... (a copout)
