Moving into a new house soon and will be going the DirectTV route.
My first question is will I need to off air antenna to receive my local channels in HD if I have the PLUS HD DVR package? I can't seem to get a straight answer out of any of the local installers or by using the 800 number and calling DirectTV themselves.
Secondly. When will the NFL Network be available in HD? I was shocked to see it wasn't listed as an HD channel. That sucks.
Third. I will be signing up for the Sunday Ticket but was wondering if the Superfan add on is worth it.
Any information, tips or advice you can give me would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks!

1) I am not sure if Directv offers HD locals in your area but if they do you will not need a OTA.
2) NFL Network will be full time HD in September but last year Directv had the NFL Network games in HD.
3) Since you will be a new customer when you order tell them you want NFL ticket but don't want to pay for super fan and they will probably give it to you for free. A lot of current customer's have been able to get it for free.

Excellent. Thank you. The whole satellite tv game is new to me, but where we are moving it is the only choice.
Unless of course you prefer to sit and watch cows.

Where in OK are you? OKC and Tulsa both get their locals in HD. Since I am in SE OK, (and part of the Ft. Smith/Fayetteville AR DMA), I use an antenna to get locals.
If you get NFLST, adding Superfan gets all of the available games in HD as well. I just ordered Superfan this week. Looking forward to football season. Now if only I could get FoxSportsSW in HD to watch the Sooners!
Oh, and :welcome_s

1) Maybe. Put your zip code in here and see what you can get: http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/packProg/localChannels.jsp?assetId=900018
2) NFL Network HD games have been on DirecTV on channel 95 since they started. Full time NFL Network in HD will be coming this fall with the new sat.
3) Superfan is work it if you want HD games. But as noted you should be able to get it free, especially as a new sub. By the way, wait about a month for the super deal on Sunday Ticket they always give out to new subs. Best time to sign up.
I saw where someone said the ST deal will start on the 12th, not at all sure about the source.
