I have sent three e-mails to D, one about every two weeks for the past six weeks and I'm still waiting for a reply. Currently a C Band and comcrap customer looking to get some of my programing back. Is this how D treats potential new customers? I've tried the customer service route but have had no luck in getting my questions answered.
Right now I'm about to just forget the whole idea. I can't deal with a company that has such a lack of customer focus.
Really cracks me up to read all the whining posts from D customers who feel they have earned special treatment for being such "loyal" customers! "If you don't give me something for nothing I'll cancel my service....". On the other side of the coin, I don't even rate the courtesy of a response.
:(
Have you tried the telephone?

Not at all. I have sent a few emails over the last couple of years and they get back to me with in 6 hours or so.

Just pick up the phone and call them. If you are that unhappy with comcrap, the effort will be worth it.

Any time I have e-mailed them over the years, for whatever reason, I have ALWAYS gotten a prompt response. Check you junk mail folder.

Yes, they always respond to me too. I think the difference is though that we are all current customers. I'm not sure they even respond via email to non customers (that would seem to me to overwhelm their email support team).
Anyway, as a new customer just call them. And if you are interested in Sunday Ticket at all wait about a month for the yearly super deal with Sunday Ticket for new subs.

gary,
Never had an issue with e-mail either.
Yep - try calling :)
I've had a few issues with email responses but I don't do it all that often. For all of you suggesting the person pickup the phone...perhaps he's hearing impaired?

I must say D* is on of the only companys that I can count on to answer my e-mails. 24 of 25 e-mails have been answered, usually with in 4 days. Seems odd you haven't gotton a response. Like others said, check your spam mail or just call. Or better yet post your questions here, maybe someone here can help. Best of luck.

Then he can call this number:

Thanks for all of the positive responses. As I said, I did "pick up the phone" (and no I'm not hearing impaired, maybe a little mentally impaired!) I called customer service a couple of times and was very unimpressed with the folks I talked to. I've read alot of negative comments on this forum concerning customer service and was trying to avoid that approach.
I did check my junk e-mail, nothing there. Besides, I did register with D and I get their advertisements all the time, both regular mail and e-mail.
Perhaps the answer to my problem is to just find a local installer, I know there are some in my area. Seems to me that a local person would likely do a better job than someone from out of state. Can anyone comment on this? Also, do I loose out on a better deal through D? Any other down sides?
I very much appreciate any and all responses.

Why don't you ask your questions here to see if most or all can be answered to your satisfaction? For most things, you'll get as good or better answers from the folks here, unless you're looking to try and get freebies or special dispensation from D* for something.

Yes a local dealer will be more interested in you than a national account. The promotions are a National promotion from Directv. Starting Jul12th The Q3 promotion will offer Sunday Ticket for $69.99 for 4 monthly payments with free Premier subscription for the 4 months. You have thousands of subscribers in these forums so ask your questions and you will probably get several correct answers.:) :) :)

No, I wasn't looking to play "let's make a deal" with D. I had several questions six weeks ago and have since gotten the answers thanks to this great forum. The one question that still remains; is there a place on D website that list ALL of the monthly charges. For example, if you use D's version of Dish Builder you don't get to see all of the individual charges. You have to go to check out and there you only see a lump sum total. I'm not about to enter my Credit Card info and place an order to see the details.
One of my ?'s to D was "Why doesn't your "Build my System" provide as much detail as E's Dish Builder?" Perhaps they didn't like the question and just chose to ignore it.
I have been reading this forum for over a year and have found it to be very informative. I really don't like to post dumb question and it always seems like sooner or later someone will cover my ?.
By the way, where do you folks get your info on promos? Like the one coming on July 13th, I hadn't seen that one before.

Post exactly what you plan to get and we'll tell you all the charges.
However, other then the package charge the only "extra" charges would be a $5.99 DVR fee (covers as many as you have) if you get a DVR, and any receiver beyond the first one is a $4.99 mirror fee.
You also would be charged for things like the protection plan if you want that, the magazine and so forth but those charges are pretty obvious.

I think asking why aren't you as good as Dish might not be the best approach.

I haven't looked much at the packages lately, but one or two of them, I believe, include the HD Access fee, some don't. I believe that's $9.99 a month if your package doesn't include it already. And if the receiver you get is the H20 or HR20, you are required to subscribe to the HD Access package by virtue of having HD equipment.
