Problem with recording current program

Allrighty. The searching and timed recording seem to work fine.

Here's the problem. If I hit 'record' while watching a program I get the options of manual stop or stop at end of program. I select it to stop at the end of the program.... but it doesn't. Last night it not only didn't stop but cut out the way end of the movie and started recording the next movie without any break or pause. Weird.

This morning I decided to test it with about 2 minutes left on a show. It didn't stop recording at the end.. just kept on recording.

Any thoughts?

Aside from this, the picture quality still floors me. As does the sound. Man, Band of Brothers never sounded so good.

Well, it seemed to fix itself. Tested it last night and it did finish recording the program. For some reason it recorded 4 minutes of the next program (even though I didn't pad the record time). But hey, I ain't complaining.

Halfsek, if your 721 is new, it is not unusual for it to have these problems in the first 2 days. As far as the padded recording goes, if you look on the create screen the 721 automatically pads recordings by 3 minutes unless you tell it not to and if you make a change to the timer lots of times I find it resets the padding too, it can be frustrating. The 721 only truncates the padding if both tuners are scheduled to record an upcoming adjacent program, otherwise it leaves padding alone.

I agree that the interface is frustrating and needs work, but this particular behavior is by design and is one of the cool things about it.
