SportsNet NY HD [Archive]

Just a follow up.....my neighbor definitely was receiving the Met game in HD the other day, when I was receiving it with side bars at the same time....he has Cablebvision of Monmouth County. Is there some reason that would be the case? His was on Channel 730 of the Monmouth County NJ Cablevision service, which according to the channel list on their website is SportsNet NY HD, not the Philly feed.....why would they have full screen HD and we get sidebars?

I know some people have mentioned that the Mets away games are not in HD, but then why are they in HD for Cablevision customers?

DirecTV just passes along whatever the channel (SNY in this case) is sending them. They can't make it "not" HD. Cablevision may have had a different feed.

Are you sure you were watching the HD feed of SNY and not the SD feed? Both are channel 625 which can be confusing. The first 625 listed in the guide is the HD feed. I don't mean to sound condesending - just want to eliminate the obvious first.

Yes, my HD feed had the sidebars and the second 625 was SD, which I have set to stretch mode and takes up the entire screen....there is an obvious difference. I guess Cablevision gets a different feed....that sucks.

i thought only the home games are broadcast in hd anyway? if they play on the road they are sd...

Not on Cablevision they're not, they are in HD...I watched it across the street on the 4th of July on SportsNet NY HD....channel 730.

I have Verizon Fios in NJ and we are getting all the HD home and away games.
