Big day in Fort Myers, FL tonight, NBC and ABC going live in HD. So a little after 6:00, I go to add the dig channels, and as soon as I get to the screen to put in the channel and see the signal strength, everything locks up! After about 30 secs. my 6000 powers down, then a few seconds later it powers back up, aquires the satellite, and comes on back to the last channel I was watching on sat before I went to the menu. Talk about frustrating, I've tried 3 more times and the same thing happens.

My analog OTA is fine, just when I try to add or scan digital, it locks up. This happen to anyone else? My guess is a bad tuner.

No ER in HD tonight for me.:(

It could also be that the station is putting out information in the PIP that confuses and locks up the 6000. Try a different channel.

Yes, I have seen a glitch cause the 8VSB to black out & the 6000 try to restore itself by reaquiring the satellite. This happens now & again as the broadcasters work on their transmitters. It doesn't mean your tuner is bad.

WCS is to reset the 6000 by pulling the card. Avoid the "problem" OTA channel for a while. Try a rescan or manual delete, save & re-add later.

Thanks guys, I'll check with a coworker today to see if he had any luck last night, or if the same thing happened to him.

A little follow up. My friend had no problems with the HD signal, so I think its my tuner. Will be calling Dish Depot on Monday to get a new one.
