Hughes GAYBO Caller ID (Patch)

if your gaybo has software version 5599.1.3 then you got the patch !! but lets make sure this works and not let hughes pull another fast one on us. Keep an eye on your caller id records. if they are all still there ,then everything is working good.if they disappear, then the gaybo is rebooting, and when it does reboot,it looses its caller id records. One of my gaybos has all its caller id records for the last 25 days, the other is only up to day 8,so we will see. To prevent caller id records from being over written (multiple calls from the same phone number), you might try going to a pay phone and calling into your home, this way you will time stamp the records and you will know FOR A FACT, that the gaybo is working as it should.

FAILED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was hoping to post positive news here about the hughes GCEB0A executive directors pack, commonly know as gaybo, but the news is distressing. the patch 5599.1.3 is NO good. My reciever rebooted for NO reason what so ever during a program i was watching,lost all caller id records. I then checked my other reciever wich has software version 5605, and it is fine, no re-boot whatsoever ,all caller id records are there for over a month now.I was hoping this was all behind me but i can see the struggle continues.

yep the patch sure dont work. i was recording a movie and my hughes executive GCEB0A rebooted and ruined my recording !!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is bad,and Directv used to be so good.I dont know what to do ??Nobody will help me, Hughes just sends out another box since it is under warranty and its the same thing.

I am pleased to report that both my Executive Directors pack seem to be working fine now. Niether unit has re-booted for over 20 days now.All Caller-ID records are present indicating no re-boots have taken place. Even though the RCA RG models have been slightly improved with its upgrade, I still prefer the Hughes Executive Directors guide system and hardware.The only thing the thomson has going for it is its logos on the guide wich were updated with the patch. I would like to see Hughes Network System to update our logos with the next software upgrade. Logos and software upgrades bring life to the guide otherwise it seems kinda dead.
