I have a Dish 1000 and a Vip 211 receiver. I recently upgraded the basic package from top 100 to top 200. But I could not find those RSN (e.g., FSN AZ, ch. 415) channels in the guide. I called the tech support today and was told all FSN channels are blacked out for now. I can't believe the explanation. I should be able to see the channels in the guide even they are blacked out. Guys, do you have any idea what went wrong?

If all you have is a Dish500 then you are missing a lot more than just your RSN.

Most of Dish's HD channels are on either 61.5 or 129... so you either need a Dish1000 or a 2-dish solution to pick up all the HD... including the RSN which is on one of those locations I just mentioned.

Are you sure you just have a Dish500? If so, then that is your problem. How did you manage to get a ViP211 and not get the full dish installation?

Ch 415 comes from 119° though the HD version in on 129°. I think you're only supposed to see the RSN for your area (unless hidden as mine is). If Dish carries your RSN, you should be seeing it with AT100+ or higher. Call again.

My bad. What I have is dish 1000, not 500.

The RSN channels were the reason why I upgraded to the top 200 package. If I am only supposed to see the RSN for my area, I'd downgrade back. What about the multi-sport package? Can I get access to all RSN channels that Dish carries?

Ok... You are in ACC country... so you should be seeing FSN South on 420 and the HD version is on 370. Since you have a Dish1000 then you should be able to see the 370 HD version.

I'm not sure how far north before you get another RSN. Where I am in Raleigh, all we get is FSN South unless you subscribe to the $5.99 multi-sport.

But I know some folks in some on-the-border areas actually get more than one RSN without having to get multi-sport.

If you subscribe to multi-sport, then you will get all the SD RSNs... however, not all the HD RSNs. Some are on 61.5, others are on 129... so you'd need to have another dish pointed at 61.5 to get alk the HD RSNs.

That said... depending on why you want them, you may or may not get what you want. The way the RSNs work (be it on Dish, DirecTV, or wherever), certain pro teams (NBA, NHL, etc.) claim a particular RSN and particular zip codes. If you are in a zip code that they claim, then you can watch pro sports on the RSN. Basically no out-of-market pro sports on an RSN (either SD or HD) unless you subscribe to one of those "league pass" or "season pass" types of deals.

College sports are a different matter... those you can watch out-of-market with the multi-sport... so there will be a lot of programming once college football/basketball seasons get going in a few months.

Not even ch. 370 and 420. None of them shows up on my guide. What shall I do? any suggestion?

How recently did you upgrade? Tonight or several days or more ago? It can take 30 minutes or an hour, and sometimes I've heard folks have to call back more than once to have Dish "hit" the receiver to update the programming... I usually get things pretty quickly once I call for a programming change, but your mileage may vary.

Are you missing any other channels that should have come with the upgrade to AT200? I forget what goes where since I am on AT250 and have been there so long I forget what channels are on what tiers.

If that is not the problem... do you use favorites lists? Make sure you are looking at the "All Chan" or "All Sub" lists to see the channels. If you have customized personal favorites lists you will need to add them to your custom lists before you can see them there.

I did the upgrade about a month ago. But I didn't notice the problem until last week. I was out of town before that. I am pretty sure that I am not using favorites lists, and the guide shows "All Chan". I haven't checked other channels that are supposed to be in AT200. I'm going to do it later. If I find any more missing channels, I'm going to call Dish again. The stupid rep!

In terms of actual content... I haven't seen anything on 370 (HD) since it launched. Raleigh, NC is claimed by the Bobcats for NBA so nothing doing there since that is on OTA around here.. no MLB team claims us. NHL is in Raleigh, but is claimed as well and usually OTA. So until college seasons kick in, I won't see anything... but the channel is there, as it should be for you.

420 (the SD version) has lots of content, I just don't watch any of the in-between games stuff but again you should be seeing that.

I hope you are able to straighten things out with another CSR if it isn't just a favorites list thing. Doesn't sound like it though based on your last post... Could be that your original upgrade never "took" and if you were away and not trying to watch any of the other new channels, maybe another call to Dish telling them that will help them fix you up.
