View Full Version : 622s Can't See Channel 388 SNY-HD

Eight of the nine new national-beamed RSN-HD channels appeared on my 622 guides on Wednesday, but channel 388 SNY-HD has not as of today. Of course, this is the one HD-RSN I'd like to be able to receive.

I called Dish yesterday. Customer and technical support reps said they "have no information" on these new channels, "don't know" why this one channel wouldn't appear on my receivers, and they had no troubleshooting suggestions at all other than to "wait to see if it ever appears".

I didn't find this to be an acceptable solution, so I wrote to the online support mailbox. I'm awaiting a reply.

BTW, I have no problems receiving any channels other than this new #388. Yes, I've rebooted. I subscribe to a high-level package including all high-def programming and all sports networks.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Richard

Richard,

SNY-HD is not a full time RSN channel. The channel is on the 61.5 satellite location and shows Mets games in HD. Since you're not in the NY Mets region, you wouldn't be able to view anything on it.

Which satellite locations are you pointing to? Some RSNs are on 61.5 while others are on 129. Unless you are pointed at both locations, you will not see all of the HD RSNs even with the multi-sport pack.

I haven't looked, but I would imagine this one would be on 61.5 since 129 is hard to see from New York.

I can only get 364

I can only get 368 (FSN-MW), which shows Cardinals games.

Unless one subscribes to the Sports Pack they should get their own SD RSNs from 110° or 119° and the HD version (if available for their RSN) from 61.5° or 129°.

For example, without a Sports Pack subscription I would only see SD RSNs CSNCH and FSNMW ... and also see (in the guide) the HD version of FSNMW.

With the Sports Pack one sees everything in the guide ... all of the SD RSNs (as long as you can see both 110° and 119°) and all the HD RSNs on whatever other locations you have in your system. If you are like me and have both 61.5° and 129° (and have the Sports Pack) the EPG shows them all.

Content is another question. I get 16 channels of the Dish HD logo and blacked out games. It makes it kinda pointless to have them in the guide unless the programming is open to viewing. Unless it is your local RSN (one you see in SD without Sports Pack subscription) I would not worry about it being missing.

If you do get the SD version and not the HD of one of the 17 HD RSNs it is likely it is because you are missing the satellite it is on - 61.5° or 129°.
