I have just finished watching S.F. beat Oakland in overtime. The 49er's win the coin toss and go down the field taking what seems like half an hour and then kick a field goal to win.

Anyone else have a problem with the Raiders not getting a posession to answer that score?

In the CFL, each team gets a posession in overtime. I'm curious as to your thoughts. And maybe we can talk about punt and kick off returns (or lack there of) next week.

I have a BIG prob with the Raiders losing that game.....I love the Raiders but Id probably still want to keep OT the way it is...and not switch it to the NCAA rule which is BS IMHO..

I believe NFL overtime should be amended in some way. A coin toss should not be so pivotal. It's too easy to kick a field goal, so I say make it a requirement to score a touchdown to break a tie in overtime.

Well the key is that the teams should have won in the regular time of play. It is possible to prohibit a team from getting into field goal range with good defense and getting possession then.

The losing team had an hour of regular time to get ahead, and could have stopped the other team in OT from scoring.

Why not have each team try field goals, start at the 5 yard line and move back until one misses?  We could call it a shootout. :)

Hope no one takes me seriously.

The current system works fine for me, even though it seems that the team winning the coin flip wins. The college system favors the team that gets the ball second, the same would apply if each team got one possession in the NFL. No system is perfect, but the overtime works out fairly well.
