Adult Channels on D*

Hey guys, I'm looking to add the adult channels to the DBSTalk Package Comparison Chart. What adult channels are on D* and how much do they cost per month and/or PPV? Thanks!

I was unaware DirecTV had any monthly adult channels. Here's a link to the PPV ones... :shrug:

Thanks James. Looks like PBTV is the only one that has a monthly option. But I don't quite understand 'Buy this channel and get all 5 networks'. From how I understand it is if you purchace a block on any one of the last 3 adult channels, you get all the channels for that time period for the $11 bucks. Is that correct?

It looks like you are correct Steve, you get all 3 channels for that time period according to the ad running on the channels.

One more question, how long is a block for Spice Plat, Hot Net and Hot Zone? Is it the normal 4 hours?

Oh yeah one more D* PPV question, are there any set PPV channels that are DD and LTBX or does it still depend on the movie at random?

Its 3 hrs Steve......for the Adult PPV channels....this is actually 5.....though channel..594 shows those adult flicks dumbed down to a R Rating.....As far as there being set PPV channels for DD or LTBX that depends on the movie.....and the day...

Thanks a lot, it's tough trying to keep things complete and up to date without having DirecTV. The adult channels should be added to the chart later tonight or tomorrow evening, depending on how much time I have later.

Steve,

DTV PPV movies are in DD when the broadcast is in HD. So far they only have one or two PPV channels dedicated to that. If you look at the PPV channels in the EPG it shows you if the movie is in DD or not. Out of about twenty movies only one is in DD and that is Blade Two.

I honestly thought that there was DD on standard definition PPV channels.. or was I wrong?

I thought so too. I think it depends on what movie it is, just like the letterbox versions of movies. I think the channel # is irrelevant.

I was going on what the CSR told me this weekend when I called DTV to ask if there were any other channels that had DD movies because the movie I wanted to order (Changing Lanes) was not in DD. The young lady told me that the only PPV movies with DD are the HD lbx variety. That was a disappointing answer because I also thought that the rest of the PPV channels had the DD sountracks available.

I think she is mistaken. There are non HD lbx movies available...

For the longest time 122 showed ltbx movies, looks like it's back again with Blade 2. Which also reminds me, are the 3 adult channels in the 170 range anything specific?

Not that it appears to me. They seem to just show adult PPV, but movie specific, which is different than those in the 500's which don't appear to show specific movies. Those in the 100's must be showing newer movies than those in the 500's. But thats just a guess.

Steve....channels in the 170s are again those damn dumbed down (IMHO...LOL) edited porn flicks...Porn flicks ruined by a editing down to R....Did I just say that?!@!!
