Good evening all,

Just a question to those in the know about the satellite positions and where the new HD satellite will be. I have the 5 LNB dish. During the summer, due to some trees, I get a lot of pixilation (if even a signal) on HD-Net Movies, ESPN2, Discovery-HD and HDNet. My HD locals come in just fine and so does ESPN-HD, HBO-HD, SHOW-HD.

So, in regards to the new satellite that just went up for all of the new HD channels, what position will it be in reference to what's already up there?

I read the sticky thread about the new satellite but couldn't really find the an answer I could understand.

Thanks much for any help!

Did you read the Ka sticky thread also? It indicates that D10 will be at 103WL with S1. So it will be just right of the bulk of the SD channels (at 101.) Not nearly as far as 110 or 119 where today's HD national channels are.

HTH,
Tom

If your current HD Locals come in fine, then you'll be fine. Sounds like you're having problems receiving 119-deg W .... that's where those channels are beamed from.

D10 the first SAT that was just launch is going to be at the 103 spot with the other SAT like Tom said. D11 the next SAT to launch will be at the 99 spot with the other SAT that is already there. At some point probably within a year after the new HD channels start the MPEG2 HD channels on 110 and 119 will be moved to either 103 or 99 SAT and become MPEG4.
