SYDNEY, Nov 6 (Reuters) - Rupert Murdoch's News Corp said on Wednesday it would take a year to complete any deal to buy Hughes Electronics Corp's (nyse: GMH - news - people) DirecTV, if it had another chance to secure the satellite television group.
"We frankly don't know yet if it's going to be offered to us ... but we are quite certain if it was offered to us and you went through all this business with Washington it would be the best part of a year from now before anything was totally consumated," News Corp Chairman Rupert Murdoch told a conference call.
