Hello all....

Well I had it done today....the dreaded install....actually it went pretty well EXCEPT, I cannot receive ANY of my OTA stations. I am in Dallas and did not have issues at all with the HR10.

I called into support and the girl, who actually SEEMED to know what she was talking about, had me force a new download of new software. Originally I had the 0x12a version. After downloading, I know have 0x17e..........is this the latest software version??

I still cannot receive my OTA locals. When I tune to a OTA station, such as 11-1 or 8-1, I get "searching for signal on the off-air tuner..."

She didn't know what else to do so she scheduled me for ANOTHER service call on AUGUST 3rd????? WTF?

I was dreading making this switch and sure enough something is not right.....

If anyone has ANY ideas, please help me out...you have always been good to me!

Thanks

Todd

Is the OTA line connected to the HR20?

Is the OTA line connected to the HR20 properly?

Did you have a dedicated line to your HR10 or was it diplexed?

If it was diplexed, odds are that the installer removed the diplexer.

If so, the a new line will need to be run for wherever the diplexer was/is to the HR20. Or you will need to wait for the SWM to become available to use one line for the HR20s sat tuners and the other for OTA (or one for both).

Thanks for your response...sorry for my ignorance but what does diplexed mean? My set up before was two cables in from dish to HR10 and I used an indoor antenna for my OTA. I have the same set up here....two lines in from satellite to HR20 and indoor antenna running to the input for OTA.

and what is SWM? Like I said sorry to ask so many questions...

Thanks

the installer. He put the OTA antenna into the Remote Antenna access input, not the OTA input. I should have checked it but I didn't....I switched and it is all working now.....

Thanks a ton! Go ahead and laugh! I am!

DOH

Now where did he put the RF antenna?

Check out the CE forum for all the info on the SWM.

Diplexers allow you to "combine" the sat feed and the OTA feed into one line, then "split" them back apart at the reciever.
