It seems like it ought to be possible to tweak DishLinux to provide MPEG2 streams to USB.
Then the data could be pulled onto RealVideo server and provided to clients on a LAN. (This would be better than tweaking a Tivo box because the content would need to be recoded.)

Has anyone investigated this, or know of other products that could do something similar?

Search Yahoo! for Dishrip.... Don't think its possible with a 721 though....

With Dishrip, it is necessary to take the drive out of the PVR. Ideally, it would be possible to get the raw data off a USB stream during the broadcast..
