View Full Version : 622 Mostly Unresponsive
This morning my wife and I were watching a program on TV2 which was currently recording on the DVR using the OTA Tuner. This is just a roundabout way to watch our locals on TV2 since we do not currently have an antenna hooked up to TV2 and we do not pay for our locals through DISH. It started raining and our power was lost for less than a couple of seconds. When the power came back on, the 622 did not. It was completely unresponsive to either remote on either TV. When I reset the 622 the TV1 light lit up, the fan ran for a short time, all lights blinked one time and then all went off including the fan and the TV1 light. I tried the reset several times with the same result each time. Is this likely the end for my 622 or is the outlook not so bleak?

Unplug it, plug it back in turn it on, and give it a few seconds (up to 1 min) when the lights go out, tahts a normal boot process......if it still won't respond after a few min, its fried...

That's what I was afraid of. I tried both the soft boot and hard boot this morning and neither seemed to work. I've been foolishly hoping that when I get home this evening it will be working.:(

Ackk :( Sounds like you got a power surge or something. I would call DISH and see if they can send out a replacement... under warranty?
One reason I use a surge protector.

The main reason I use a UPS for my DVRs. It sure prevents a lot of problems.
