View Full Version : Anyone in St. Louis know where I can rent a Satellite Signal Meter…
I don’t want to buy one for one installation.
Thanks!

Just have one of the contracted installers come out for free and install for you.

I doubt you'll find one for rent anywhere. Your best bet is to hope that another forum member in your area can help you out.
What are you installing?
I'm getting a new 5LNB tomorrow with a new HR20. I doubt the installer will get on the roof to install it because it's a two tiered roof and a bit shaky to climb up onto the second level. I think what I will do is climb up to the second level (I installed the other one and can get up there no problem) and then ask him to read the meter and direct me to make the adjustments while he is on the first tier. We will be within 8' of each other. Think that will work?

I bought an accutrac III, but while researching it, found the following rental website. However, you could get an acutrac pro for keeps for another $50, so keep that in mind.

rent, don't ever buy an acutrac - they don't hold up worth a crap and they don't honor their warranty.
Thanks guys for the info.
The installer actually climbed up on the roof to do the tuning. He used a Birdog meter, but he went thru the tuning so fast I'm not to confident he did the best job. It just did not seem like he was turning the dials precisely during the fine tuning process, I was under the impression you really needed to get that exact. He just wiped thru it. Oh well, I will finish running my cables today and find out if I need to go back up there to make it better.
