I just moved into a new house. The previous owner had directv, and he left the dish and all the cabling. I have never been a directv customer so I assume I should qualify for a new customer discount but all I see all over the place are deals for new customers that include dish receiver and installation. I only need a receiver, are there any deals for people in my situation? I would like directivo. Are there any recommendations for which receiver to get and pointers to good deals for someone in my situation? It just bugs me to pay for installation and dish when both of those are already installed.

thanks for any info

Best bets are:

1. Contact a local dealer and talk to him or
2. Get the full package and either sell the dish or keep it as a spare

In your case - the "installer" would love you - no work !
