721 and local channel mapping?

Hi Talkers!

from everything I can find it seems that the 721 DOES support local channel mapping, i.e., 2, 4, 5 7, 8 instead of 8000, 8001, 8002, etc.
Now I have had it installed for over 48 hours, got the L104 24 hours ago and still I see NO sign that locals map to the broadcast channel number.
Can I get a confirmation or denial of this feature? and if it IS supposed to map to broadcast numbers, why won't mine do it?

I have local channel mapping as well as locals in 700 and 8000 series of channels on my 721.

Are you subscribed to locals from Dish? It will not remap your off air or cable channels. :)

(Gotta check this thinga you know!) :)

Do you have a LOCALS package, or a DISTANT network package?
(The 6 cities of LA, NY, Chicago, Atlanta,Denver Dallas w/ONLY the "Big 4" nets)
You will NOT get mapping on a DISTANT network package

I have local locals thur E*...and it was just a matter of patience.
Everything is mapped fine now...I guess it just seemed odd that it would not be that way to start with.
So the old 721 post stating "things are a little wierd for the 1st 48 hours" stands as a pillar of truth!!
