Sorry if I sound like a newbie here, but I'm really confused with the current equipment/dishes/switches/cabling/etc. I want to get a dish 622 unit. I currently have:
Receiver: 501 (lol)
Switch: SW64
Dishes: Dish 500 at 110/119, 2nd dish at 65
I also have a 6000, but its inactive currently.
I want to get the 622 and probably stop using the 501, though maybe relocate it to another room, I'm not sure. My confusion is with all the wiring/switch requirements. I only have 1 cable running into the room with the 501 receiver. I really don't see how you could easily run a 2nd cable in there. I understand there is a way to run a 622 off 1 cable. But that means I need a new switch and possibly new LNB?
If I just call up dish and say I want a 622 with installation, will the installers install the new switch/LNB? Or will they insist on running a 2nd cable to the receiver (which I honestly don't think is possible based on where the cables enter the house)?
Or do I need to do all the wiring/switch/LNB upgrades myself first?
Are my actual dishes ok still, or do I need something new for those also?
Thanks for any info!
