Broadband Reports.com (http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Ampd-Dies-At-Midnight-86226) is reporting Amp'd Mobile will shut down it's service to customers at midnight tonight. Customers can move to a new upstart phone service called Prexar Mobile, keeping their phone.
Oh, and if you're interested in buying some Amp'd banners and equipment, there's a list of Amp'd assets being liquidated in the sale.

So customers can go from one failure, to another doomed failure. When it comes to phone service, I would never ever go with any of the small start up operations, wireless or VoIP. I used to read all the time on how SunRocket was so great and very cheap, see where they are today? As a company I hate Verizon, and I love my Nextel, but not a fan of Sprint after trying their hybrid phones, but at least I know Verizon and Sprint will actually be around tomorrow morning when I wake up.
