I thought I would provide an update on my lip sync status since there are others that have the same problem. I called a while back and they told me that they would escalate my call. A few days passed so I called them back. The lady told me that someone would be getting in touch with me in the next 72 hours and I mentioned that I am in a contract to keep the HD but why was I paying for something that really didn't work properly. She came back and gave me 5 dollars off a month for the next 12 months. Well, nobody has called me and it has been well over 72 hours. About 144 hours to be exact. I guess I am going to have to call again this week. It's just the HD channels that are off. Anyway, has anyone else called with this problem?

Which HD channels are you noticing this with? Is it the national MPEG2 ones or the local MPEG4s?

I don't local HD channels. The bad ones are ESPn, ESPN 2, TNT.

ESPN is notorious for problems. There are tons of threads on the subject.

Have you tried a menu reset?

Yes, I have restarted, unplugged. Still messed up.

Try pausing the channel and then playing again. This usually fixes the problem for me. The other fix is to jump back 6 seconds. The lip sync problem used to be a much more frequent problem for me. But, the firmware is much improved in the last six months.

I don't recall the day, but a while back I had a real sync problem on a ABC network evening HD show. The usual pause, stop, change channel, rr etc didn't help. It was the same OTA. I switched to my TV's tuner and it wasn't there, I went back to the HR20 and the problem was gone. Haven't seen it since. Strange. I can handle an occassional sync problem but the vertical stretch on SD has got to be fixed.

Is it your TV or Stereo that is having the lip sync problems, or both? And how are you connected to them? HDMI, Composite, Coax, Toslink? I know its a pain, but try hooking the audio up different ways and see if you still get delays in the audio.

I noticed it on "Greek" -- a new ABC evening show. I don't have OTA so can't do that a/b comparison.
