Will the CE'ers see the new HD Channels first as testers, or will they rollout nationally?

There isn't any software required for the new channels, so I don't see where CE'ers would be any different from anybody else.

All of the broadcast and transmission testing I assume either will or is happening with D10 not in its final position.

It is parked in a "for testing only" location and then will be moved into place when it passes.

Any time frame on when they'll be moving it into the final position?

I'm sure as soon as they can. It is the kind of thing that needs to be right, the first time. Tough to go back and do any tuning one you have the masses tuned in. I have read about the 15th of Sept. it should go live, before if we are lucky.

I can confirm.... that the CE's will not see anything "early" with the new HD channels..
The "estimation" of September 16th... is completely based on the Lawyer letter sent to the FCC... there have been no dates even hinted by anyone at DirecTV.

well specific dates no, but the latest directv press releases all say september for many of the channels

Actually, D10 isn't even in its 102.6 testing slot yet, let alone its operational slot of 102.8. They're taking their sweet time parking that puppy. Of course, compared to a 15+ year operational life, what's a couple weeks? :)

This was dug up by dwrats_56 in the D10 thread:

Since they have been granted permission to strart testing a week earlier than originally requested I would think we should see some movement into it's testing slot shortly.
