Have SD locals but denied HD locals??? [Archive]

How can Dish provde me Baltimore SD locals, but deny me the same locals in HD? (I have full HD package). I live in Annapolis, MD and qualify for Baltimore SD locals, but Dish tells me that they don't have permission from DC stations to permit me to get Baltimore HD locals since I'm close to both areas. I get the feeling that my inconvenience is not a priority for Dish. My OTA works, but I occasionally lose signal and would like to get them by Satellite before football season. Any ideas????

Edited after reading that Baltimore HD locals are not available from DISH. They can't sell what they don't have.

Go to Tech Support, not CSR's. Dish has changed their phone system to make it more complicated to get to Tech Support but you can get there. They have a clue.

Does Dish even have Baltimore locals in HD? I'm not sure if EKB is 100% up to date with the latest additions, but I don't see Baltimore on there. I do see Washington DC HD locals on the chart.

Perhaps the CSR was saying they can't give you Washington DC locals because you are supposed to get Baltimore... but since they don't have Baltimore in HD yet, they can't give you those obviously.

Or am I missing something?

Baltimore does not have HD locals yet, I have been calling for months now and all they say is someday. When I ordered Dish they told me Baltimore HD locals would be available in 6 months, oh well good sales pitch. Other than that I am very pleased with Dish.

While not completely up-to-date as of this week, you should always check the EKB before you start calling in the militia. The only thing that I know of that needs to be updated is the full availability of Raleigh stations.

Baltimore has no obvious excuse as they have none of the known obstinate station owners.

I hope no one thought I was casting aspersions on the EKB. Since I don't live in Baltimore I don't pay that much attention to such things in the uplink reports, so I wouldn't know the difference between them not being on Dish or being launched recently and just not on the EKB yet.

My gut said Baltimore HD wasn't up yet, but I left the possible out that maybe they had just launched or something.

Thanks for confirming what I suspected, that being no Baltimore HD yet on Dish.

I've been off-site for a few days. The EKB Dish HD locals (http://ekb.dbstalk.com/hdlocal.htm) page will be updated tonight for Raleigh and anything else that happens to be in the uplink activity thread. Tony is working this weekend on catching up with 4 weeks of updates (he's had no or limited computer access recently) so the main channel charts will also soon be current.
