I need a RF antenna for a H20 receiver. Where can I get one at a sane price?

The first H20 my Father bought came with one. My sister in laws H20 did not. I found one on the internet for almost $20.00 so we called D*, they said it comes with the RF remote, it didn't, but I found the right part number (D# pt number, but couldn't look it up on their site) and called them again. The correct part number was the remote "kit". They shipped it n/c. Part number was something RC32RF kit ?

Crimp a connector on a piece of coax and then strip it down to the bare wire.

Not real sure about the length but around 8-10 inches should work.

You can actually make it very easily.
Take a piece of RG6 or even RG59 cable with an F connector on the end of it and cut the cable about 7-8" from the connector. So you are left with an 8" piece of wire that screws to the H20 terminal.

From the end of the F connector (within an inch is fine), cut ONLY the outer insulation and braid. (If you never did this before, a razor blade works best). What you will be left with is the insulated center conductor. Be sure to leave the insulator over the center conductor for safety in case the wire touches something. Its probably white foam.

There you go, that's all the real antennas are. The only difference is the one you made costs nearly nothing and hangs down.

The RF antenna is available from D* for $5. I don't have the part number, but if you go to the website and start the order process for the RF remote, it will list the RF antenna as an option.

Yes it is but, you must purchase another remote for $25.00 to get the $5.00 antenna. I have the remote just needed the antenna which is not available by itself.
