When do you turn your 721 "off"?

Even though is never seems to actually be "off" when do most people push the power button for the 721?

I turned mine off last night, but I'm not used to turning the Sat box off.  Will it wear anything out faster being left on 24/7.  Or like a light bulb will it burn our faster with the constant on/off?

I turn it off every few nights so with the remote so its computer software can do its thing to keep from bugging out.
