Looking for a real good cyber nanny kind of thing where I can block porn, certain chat rooms, and auction sites from my kids.
Also perhaps limit things like ebay for the wife.
I want to allow or restrict based upon my specifications....
Anyone have recommendations for a decent software package?
Jason: I wanted to get Net Nanny, which has the best reviews but couldn't find it locally. I finally settled on Child Safe, which I found at Best Buy. Nice program -- even sets limits for when the child can use the computer. I have a 15 year old grandson who is an avid online gamer, MySpace communicator, and very naive kid when it comes to visiting sites and hitting the download button. He's not happy when he gets kicked off by ChildSafe, but his parents have had a big load taken off their minds. A few weeks ago, he lost his computer privileges for three days because he argued with my daughter in-law even after she cautioned him. One simple entry on the ChildSafe menu locked him out for the three days.
The program has a database of dangerous sites that it uses to lock kids out and is easily customized.
I have McAfee Siteadvisor installed on my primary computer -- it does a good job of warning you about unsafe sites (good for adults) and is free.

Thanks for the good info, Charlie.
I'm going to pass it on to the parents of my 8 grandkiddos and two great-grandchillens!

Cool, thanks Charlie, glad to hear that it works, I bought this exact software this afternoon for $39 at best buy, and has 3 seat license. I was hoping to find one with a decent review.
Thanks
